Tunisia: A Low-Cost Relaxing Escape

Looking for a low-cost relaxing escape? Les Orangers Beach Resort & Bungalows in Tunisia offers a comfortable and excellent all-inclusive experience. My recent seven-night stay provided a glimpse into a world of poolside lounging and on-site activities, perfect for a stress-free getaway in the sun.

The resort itself is located in Hammamet and is considered a 4-star property. The various accommodation buildings and public spaces are surrounded by beautiful grounds filled with lush greenery, vibrant flowers and winding pathways. While there are areas that could use a touch of updating, such as the seating in the lobby and the children's play park, the overall atmosphere is homely and comfortable. Daily archery sessions provided a fun and engaging way to break up the day, and the array of amenities kept me entertained throughout my stay. There was always some activity to get involved with, whether it was petanque, zumba, or water aerobics.

Les Orangers offers plenty to do without ever leaving the resort grounds. Think tennis courts, horse stables, a volleyball court, a kids' play park, indoor and outdoor pools, and a bazaar. The on-site bazaar is a great place to browse local crafts, the indoor pool offers a relaxing escape from the elements like a couple of wet days we had during my stay in March, and the expansive outdoor pool is perfect for soaking up the sun.

The food at Les Orangers offered a mix of hits and misses. The customisable pasta station and the BBQ grill were consistently delicious, and the beach restaurant's wok noodles were a highlight. While breakfast lacked Western variety, and some meals were inconsistent, the bright pink food truck was a delightful surprise, serving up pizzas, burgers, paninis, crepes, and the local "baguette farcie."

The staff at Les Orangers were incredibly friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, remembering preferences and always being ready for a chat. Tipping is welcomed and appreciated, a small gesture for their hard work.

While I personally spent most of my time within the resort, it is possible to safely walk outside of the resort. Taking well known routes, and staying aware of your surroundings is always advised when in any new location. Les Orangers is perfect for those seeking a resort-based holiday. If your goal is to relax by the pool, enjoy the on-site activities, and have the option to safely explore a little of the local area, you'll likely have a fantastic time. The all-inclusive package, the warm and welcoming staff, and the variety of amenities create a comfortable and relaxing environment.
